On January 23rd we found out that we are expecting our first child! So I shall share our story :)
The day before we went to Wal Mart and I decided that I wanted to get a pregnancy test. I had told Jake that I just wanted to get it (sorry TMI for those guys who may read this but you know what comes before pregnancies so it is nothing new :)) so I could just start my period. Jake said then why waste the money if you are going to buy it just so you can start your period. I am sure many others out there have ran into the same problem as I have.. Take the test, start your period the next day. So I got a little frustrated with him and put the test back on the counter. The next day while Jake was at work I had decided that just for my sanity I was going to go and get a test and take it. So I run into Harmon's pick up the two test pack and think to myself that I don't want anyone to know that I am buying this so I put it under my purse. Then I almost ram my cart into some of our friends not paying attention to what I was doing. So lucky for me I had it hidden :) So I come home take the test and I see this plus. I was in disbelief. I call my best friend Amy and I think scared her half to death. I told her that I needed to talk to her and asked if I could come and pick her up to talk to her. I told her that I really needed to talk to her. Of course she being the bestest friend ever agreed. I pull up to her house. Walk in and she is getting ready to come with me. We get to the car and she starts asking if everything is ok. I said so... Then I pulled my pregnancy test out of the bag! She looks at it and yells SHUT UP!!!! She then said that we needed to go and take another test. So off we go to Albertons. Again buying a two pack :) We head back to her house and I head upstairs take the test.. Same result. So I come down and show her.. Her husband Todd was in the kitchen with us and she asked if it is ok if she told Todd ( I know that he would have know as soon as I left :)) so I told her go ahead. So she says Todd you need to tell Misty Congratulations! Todd says Congratulations. Then a few seconds later he said for what.. I just LOL at his comment :) He then came over and found out :) So we started talking about ways to tell Jake since he didn't know yet! This was at around 4pm and he was getting off at 6 so I had to think fast :) Well.. My mind wasn't very creative so I decided that I was going to go and get our baby an outfit that said something about Daddy on it and wrap it in our Christmas paper (since I was still picking up after Christmas :)) and tell him that as I was cleaning up the soon to nursery I found a gift that I had failed to give to him. So He comes home sees this gift sitting out and picks it up and states that it must be Mr. Potato Head parts.. I said no. Then he said a Tie. Again.. No... If you don't know me you must now know that I have an obsession with both things. So he opens it up and looks at it all weird thinking that I had put the wrong name on the gift and that it was actually for our little favorite friend Oliver... Then he realizes the size and reads what he says and asks if we are we really pregnant? :)

We had our first appt on February 2nd and were given a expected due date of September 25th. We saw our babies little heartbeat!
Today we went in for our second appointment. The doctor wanted to do another ultrasound to gain a better "guess" to our EDD since I failed to know when my last period was. It was amazing to see our little baby! While we were peaking in the baby got hiccups! I cannot believe how much the body jolts when they are that little! It made me laugh seeing our baby have the hiccups! :)
SO there you have it our friends. Our secret that we have been keeping for over a month!
